At barely 5 ys 11 months, this boy in the year 2014 made a world record when Harshit climbed Base camp and Kala Pathar peak of Mount Everest, at the height of 5550 meters with mountaineer father in goading. Is he there in Guinness Book of Records?

How he did it, father Sanjeev Saumitra a thespian of Mount Everest (climbed in 2012), pushed his boy to the extremes, and the kid loved it. Rajeev is a sort of mountaineering champ, has scaled the world’s highest peak ‘Mount Everest’ ((8848 meters), Europe’s highest peak ‘Mount Elbrus’ ranked 10th, the Tanzania’s highest peak of the African continent ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’ , Antarctica’s highest peak ‘Mount Vinson'( 4892 meters), and has gone as far as the South pole – 90 degree south.

Faced hardship of heavy gear, pulling up and pushing steps, wish for potato chips after few minutes of climb, and facing the stares of grown-ups on the way, he finally made it. Applauded by every one present there, his coming back was harder, once back in his cosy hotel room, was hugged by a worried crying mother.

Harshit was welcomed by President of India Mr. Mukherjee on Children’s Day celebrations, was also awarded with a cash award by Bharat Nepal Maitri Sangh. That money went to start The Harshit Foundation for children sports and they do not take any grant from the Government to run.

After 2013 disaster of Uttarakhand, about 5000 dead according to an estimate, and Kashmir flood of 2014, 375 dead, Sanjeev has been sincerely chasing a dream to convince the Indian Govt and NGOs of the State to adopt Mountaineering training along with CPR, First Aid, swimming and climbing as a must for the citizen. He is certain that thousands precious lives might have been saved had people knew where, how, when to climb a steep and hold grounds in rains.

During Ardh Kumbh mela 2016, Paramount Center and Harshit Foundation were involved in Corporate Social Responsibility CSR work in Haridwar with the association of Uttarakhand Police staff. Rajeev also finances few poor kids to join Mountaineering Institutes at Uttarkashi, Manali and Darjeeling.
